{"id":54,"date":"2014-03-21T15:50:02","date_gmt":"2014-03-21T15:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theapothecary.kimdeister.com\/?p=54"},"modified":"2014-03-21T15:53:31","modified_gmt":"2014-03-21T15:53:31","slug":"bugger-off-oil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theapothecary.kimdeister.com\/?p=54","title":{"rendered":"Bugger Off Oil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I created this concoction years ago when I was still active duty in the Army and it worked better than any insect repellent I have ever used, without all the chemicals! \u00a0This recipe involves a little cooking and some fresh herbs from the produce section.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients &amp; Supplies<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>travel size shampoo bottle<\/li>\n<li>crock pot<\/li>\n<li>30-40 drops of orange sweet oil<\/li>\n<li>strainer<\/li>\n<li>cheesecloth<\/li>\n<li>2\/3 cup fresh thyme<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup fresh basil<\/li>\n<li>tea trea essential oil<\/li>\n<li>citronella essential oil<\/li>\n<li>olive oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Allow fresh herbs to wilt.<\/li>\n<li>Add basil and thyme to the crock pot.<\/li>\n<li>Add enough olive oil to cover herbs plus 1&#8243;. This will be about 1 cup. Turn the crock pot to low and let &#8220;cook&#8221; for about 2.5-3 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Strain oil through strainer lined with cheesecloth.
