Hot Hair Oil

This recipe makes a wonderful, natural oil to be used as a hot oil deep conditioning treatment. It is simple to make and uses oils that not only work wonders, but leave your hair smelling wonderful. At the bottom, I have included optional mixtures for different scents other than the sandalwood.

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 4 tbsps almond oil (or jojoba oil)
  • 6 drops of sandalwood oil (see chart for other options)
  • 3 drops of chamomile
  • small glass

Directions

Set glass in a bowl of very hot water and stir mixture until it warms.

Uses

  • Apply mixture to damp or dry hair.
  • Cover with shower cap or wrap with plastic cap. Wrap a towel around your head.
  • Leave on for at least 30 minutes. For very damaged hair, leave on for several hours.

Notes

  • To wash the oil out, it helps if you massage shampoo into your hair before getting it wet.
  • Oils vary in strength, so add in a little at a time, stir it in, and test the scent. Continue until you reach the intensity you are looking for.
